A niche store, active since 2014
AutosWorld sells scale model cars and motorcycles (1:8 to 1:72), collectible kits, display cases and dioramas — a collector niche, not car parts. The existing platform (OpenCart) worked, but it was cluttered and hard to maintain.
Replatforming with high risk of SEO and stock loss
The store had over 10 years of accumulated organic traffic — a migration without a redirect plan would have meant losing all of it. On top of that, large collectible catalogues need powerful filtering (scale, brand, series, limited edition), essential for collectors searching for something specific.
WooCommerce replatform + full stock reconciliation
We migrated the full catalogue, built the complete checkout for Romania, and automated the chain from order to delivery.
The store itself is built on WordPress + WooCommerce, but with a custom theme, pixel-identical to the approved prototype: a homepage with video, a catalogue with native filters by scale, manufacturer, brand, price and stock, a product page with a gallery, specifications and FAQs, a single-step cart and checkout (individuals or companies, with company details auto-filled from the CUI, delivery to an easybox or by courier, payment by card or cash on delivery).
- 01Stock reconciliation 1,611 products, 0 missing at final verification — 66 recovered from an overly aggressive import filter.
- 02Order-to-delivery automation invoicing with a push to ANAF e-Factura and automatic AWB generation for every order.
- 03AI photo restaging 44 of 47 problem photos (with packaging in frame) automatically redone, manually checked for accuracy.
- 04Custom admin panel. After logging in, the client lands directly in the Auto'sWorld panel, not in WordPress: active products, low stock, out-of-stock, orders without an AWB, 30-day sales and newsletter subscribers, at a glance.
- 05Quick products. Price and stock are edited directly in the table, with search by name or SKU and “low stock only” / “out of stock only” filters; products with no stock automatically disappear from the site and return once restocked.
- 06Supplier and margin per product. Dedicated fields for supplier and purchase price, with margin calculated automatically in the product list.
- 07Orders with AWB. The AWB number is entered on the order and the customer automatically receives the shipping email with parcel tracking; stock will sync with marketplaces through EasySales.
- 08Data-generated on-page SEO. Every product automatically gets a title under 60 characters, a meta description, a clean slug, Product, BreadcrumbList and FAQPage schema, a specifications table with model length calculated from the scale, and an “About the original model” section, so the page has real content, not empty descriptions.

From a stock audit to full automation
- 01Full audit of the old catalogue, compared against real live stock.
- 02Full catalogue migration to WooCommerce, with a redirect plan for every old URL.
- 03Building the checkout for Romania — individuals and companies, with ANAF lookup for CUI.
- 04Payment processor integration (Netopia) plus cash on delivery, automatic invoicing with ANAF e-Factura.
- 05Automatic AWB generation for every new order.
- 06AI restaging for problem product photos, manually checked for accuracy.
- 07We built the staging environment without a browser, through the hosting and WordPress APIs, isolated from the old store, which stayed live for the whole build.
- 08We wrote the admin panel and the user guide for the client, so that day-to-day operations (stock, orders, promotions) wouldn't depend on us.
From a cluttered catalogue to a verifiable structure
The verifiable result today: the site's catalogue reflects the real live stock 1:1, with no phantom products and none missing — verified through a full audit that compared the old exports against current stock in the source platform.
The project is still in the build/launch stage (the “Night Showroom” prototype has been approved) — we're not presenting this as a finished story, but as a disciplined migration process, with verifiable steps.
What we used
WordPress + WooCommerce, Netopia integration for payments, an e-Factura connector, courier integration for automatic AWB, plus a separate AI-generation photo restaging pipeline for correcting scale-model product images.
A large catalogue migration only succeeds with 1:1 verification
The biggest lesson was how easily products can vanish from a large catalogue migration without anyone noticing — 66 products would have stayed invisible on the new site simply because of an overly aggressive import filter, with no visible error. Product-by-product verification, between the old platform and the new one, isn't an optional step on a catalogue of over 1,600 SKUs — it's the only way to confirm you haven't lost anything.
Frequently asked questions

1,611 unique products, fully reconciled between the old platform (OpenCart) and the new one (WooCommerce), with zero confirmed losses at final verification.
What was actually automated in the order process?
Invoicing (with ANAF e-Factura integration) and generating the courier's AWB happen automatically on every new order, with no manual intervention.
Is the project finished, or still in progress?
It's in the build/launch stage — the prototype has been approved, but we don't present the project as a finished story until it's fully live.
